Project Brief

Refeyn, the pioneers of mass photometry, wanted to develop a range of tunable surface modification strategies to help direct specific biomolecule interactions, thereby opening access to new markets and applications through a portfolio of consumable solutions.

Project Deliverables

Based on the target biomolecules identified, product and surface modification specifications, with associated acceptance and quality criteria, were derived. 

Candidate materials were identified and sourced and practical methods and application strategies prepared, for Refeyn to action and test with their mass photometry technology.  

Results and ongoing practical work were reviewed as part of weekly team meetings, to suggest logical iterations and help progress development activities towards industrialization. 

As a result of the project, novel surface modification strategies and surface functionalities were identified for binding specific biomolecular targets.
